I'm ready to make 2019 my bitch! It's been a crazy few years on this author journey and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm so grateful for the support of my friends and family as well as all the fan who are dying to see what happens to Violet & Robert. Last year was a tough one for me creatively and I was able to pin point the reasons why so I can be better going forward. So without further ado, let's get into my 2019 goals!
1. Publish Book 5 - Elysium
I have a plan in place to get this book done and to my editor in the 1st quarter of 2019. I want it done, you want it done, we all want to see what happens next so it's going to happen this year.
2. Start new series
I've had a new set of characters and books in my head for awhile now but I haven't done anything with them. This year, I plan to get those stories on the page and finish a least a first draft for the first book as well as outlines for the second and third book.
3. Publish Soothsayer Audiobook
This is an easy one, we're almost done with the edits and getting this baby into high quality audiobook form.
4. Record Avalon & Trivium Audiobook
Avalon should be a breeze because it's short and sweet. Trivium will be a big project, but I want to get the first pass of both books done.
5. Go on a writing retreat
Done and done, I'll be going to 20books50K writing retreat in Edinburgh this year and I can't wait!
6. Double income from last year
I'll be playing with different types of ads to see what works best and publishing more books, which will be a big help!
7. Do more giveaways
From the holidays I gathered a list of people who provided me with their address to receive cards and swag. I want to grow that list and spread the Magic.
8. Work on growing the Google Play platform
I'm finally on google and I want to tap into that market. Ads will be help and I'm hoping to grow on that platform much like I'm doing with Apple.
9. Finish all the extra content on the website for each book
Each book has it's own book page on the website and extra content. I've been slacking on getting all the "bubbles" done with fun and excited extra content and I want to get that finished.
10. Purchase ISBN's and publish through Ingramspark
I really want to publish through Ingram and get my books into Hardback format. This way I can run a special edition, have my books in large print and just have beautiful copies of the books on my shelves.
There are a lot of little goals I want to meet as well, like keeping up with my mailing list, growing my VIP group on Facebook, staying engaged on social media and writing little side stories for the characters we all love!
Now I said that I was going to change some things in my life to help me be more successful so here's the list:
1. Stop feeling guilty for taking time for myself
I am so bad at this and as much as I want to spend time with my fiance and dogs every night, that just isn't possible sometimes and that's okay.
2. Take time for myself
Literally, the only thing that I do for myself anymore, is an extra long and hot shower on the weekends....that's not exactly self care at it's finest.
3. Read more
I used to read 1-2 books a week. I used to read journals, plays, literary theory, romance novels, everything, but I've been slacking over the past couple years and that stops now!
4. Time study
A whole, day, week, month can go by and I have no idea what i've accomplished or done. So I'm putting a time study into practice and i'm going to track where my time is going. The hope is that I can see where i'm wasting time and hopefully be motivated to get more things done by tracking them.
2019 is going to be my year and I'm so excited to see what's in store. I love the new year, having 365 days ahead of me to accomplish anything and everything. So let's do this, let's get all the words done, let's take care of ourselves and let's live this year to the fullest.
Until Next Time!
